Black Friday Content Calendar 2026: What to Post
Black Friday content calendar for TikTok creators and sellers: five dated phases for 2026, what to post in each, and when to stop promising Christmas delivery.

Start Black Friday content about four weeks ahead. For 2026 that means October 30, because Black Friday falls on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30. If that date has passed, don't start over: find today in the calendar below and join from that phase. The plan has five phases and works for TikTok creators and sellers alike: test hooks, build demand, count down, sell through the peak, then ride the Christmas tail until shipping deadlines close it.
When should you start posting Black Friday content?
Four weeks out, because shoppers start early and buy late, and you need to reach them at both moments. NRF's 2026 holiday survey found that 43% of shoppers plan to begin browsing and buying before November, while 64% say they are likely to wait until Thanksgiving weekend to do most of their shopping.
The platform calendar points the same way. TikTok Shop's 2025 Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaign ran from November 12 to December 1, which opened the selling window 16 days before Black Friday. Campaign dates are set per market, so confirm this year's window in Seller Center before you lock your plan.
That leaves roughly two weeks before the campaign opens. Use them to learn which hooks work, before the feed fills up with discounts.
What do the numbers say about the 2026 season?
| Measure | Figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| US online holiday spending, Nov 1 to Dec 31, 2026 (forecast) | $275.1 billion, up 6.7% | Adobe |
| Cyber Week, Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday (forecast) | $47.5 billion, up 7.4% | Adobe |
| Black Friday online spending (forecast) | $12.9 billion, up 9.2% | Adobe |
| Cyber Monday online spending (forecast) | $15.1 billion, up 6.2% | Adobe |
| Social media's share of online revenue, Cyber Monday 2025 | 3.6%, up 56.5% | Adobe |
| Sales over TikTok Shop's four-day 2025 peak (company-reported) | More than $500 million | TikTok |
| Sales growth for brands and sellers hosting livestreams, 2025 campaign (company-reported) | 84% | TikTok |
Two readings matter for planning. Social media is still a small slice of total online revenue, but Adobe called it the standout of the 2025 season. And in TikTok's own figures, live selling is where growth concentrated, so plan your peak days around it rather than adding it at the last minute.

The five-phase Black Friday content calendar

| Phase | 2026 dates | Goal | Main content |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Test | Oct 30 to Nov 10 | Find hooks that hold attention | Three openings per product, before-and-after, problem demos |
| 2. Build | Nov 11 to Nov 19 | Create demand before the discount | Gift guides, wishlists, creator seeding |

| 4. Peak | Nov 27 to Nov 30 | Sell | Deal-first clips, live sessions, stock updates |
| 5. Christmas tail | Dec 1 to Dec 17 | Catch late gift buyers | "Arrives in time" posts, then gift cards and digital goods |
What to post in each phase
Phase 1: Test hooks (October 30 to November 10)
- Pick three to five products. Creators: pick the three categories your audience already buys from you.
- Film three different openings for each product and keep the one that holds viewers longest in your analytics.
- If you have no better starting point, try get-ready-with-me and before-and-after videos. TikTok named both as major discovery drivers in 2025.
- Confirm stock and price now. Everything after this phase depends on them.
Phase 2: Build demand (November 11 to 19)

- Make gift guides by person or budget, such as "five gifts under $25 for someone who travels". NRF's 2026 survey is framed around affordability, so a budget angle fits the mood.
- Lead with the problem the product solves. Save the discount for later.
- Ask for a save: "Save this for Friday, it drops at 9 am."
- Sellers: get samples to creators now. Creator affiliates posted nearly 10 million shoppable videos during TikTok Shop's 2025 campaign, so a late brief lands in a crowded queue.
Phase 3: Count down (November 20 to 26)
- State the deal, the price, the day and the time. "Big sale coming" gives nobody a reason to come back.
- Write each reminder so it stands alone. Most viewers will not have seen the earlier ones.
- Time the offer to your category. Adobe expects the best deals on sporting goods on Thanksgiving, on TVs, toys, apparel, appliances and furniture on Black Friday, and on electronics and computers on Cyber Monday.
Phase 4: Sell through the peak (November 27 to 30)

- Open with the deal. On peak days, viewers have no patience for scene-setting.
- Go live on Black Friday and Cyber Monday at minimum. TikTok reported over 760,000 livestream sessions in its 2025 campaign, so a clear offer matters more than a long show.
- Schedule around the evening. Adobe recorded Cyber Monday 2025's peak between 8 pm and 10 pm, at $16 million a minute.
- Cut your best live moments into short clips the same day.
- When something sells out, say so and point to the next product. Don't leave a video pushing a dead link.
Phase 5: Christmas tail (December 1 to 17)

- Change the message from "deal" to "arrives in time".
- Work back from carrier deadlines. For the contiguous US, USPS recommends sending by December 17 for Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail, December 18 for Priority Mail and December 19 for Priority Mail Express. These are recommendations, not guarantees.
- Subtract your own handling time. That gives you the last day you can honestly say "arrives by Christmas".
- After that day, promote gift cards, digital goods and local pickup. Gift cards topped NRF's 2026 gift list at 47%, ahead of clothing at 44%.
How much to post? A small team can start with three videos a week in phases 1 and 2, one a day in phase 3, and a live plus one or two clips on each peak day. That's a starting point from practice, not a platform rule. A pace you can hold beats a burst you can't.
Mistakes that waste the season
- Starting on Black Friday itself. You enter the loudest week with untested hooks.
- Promising "the biggest sale ever" without a price. Viewers can't act on it.
- Promising delivery dates you don't control, especially on cross-border orders.
- Skipping disclosure. Free products count as a material connection under FTC guidance. Put the disclosure in the video itself, repeat it during lives, and turn on TikTok's content disclosure setting.
- Reusing what worked. Your phase 1 winner should open your phase 4 clips.
FAQ
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, the day after US Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday follows on November 30.
How early should I start Black Friday content on TikTok?
About four weeks ahead, which is October 30 for 2026. That leaves time to test hooks before TikTok Shop's campaign window opens. If you are starting later, skip to the phase that matches today and reuse your best recent videos as your tested hooks.
How many videos should I post before Black Friday?
There is no official number. Three a week rising to one a day in the final week is a realistic starting point for a small team. Use your own analytics to adjust it.
Do I need TikTok Shop to use this calendar?
No. The five phases also work if you sell through your own store, use affiliate links or take brand deals. Only the campaign dates are specific to TikTok Shop.
Does this calendar work outside the US?
Yes for the UK, Canada and Australia, where Black Friday and Cyber Monday fall on the same dates. In the Philippines and Indonesia, anchor the same phases on 11.11 and 12.12 instead.
